Empowering Change Through Education

As a cornerstone of CARE’s mission, our Outreach & Education Programs empower community members of all ages with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to build healthy relationships, prevent sexual violence, and support victim-survivors.

All CARE presentations are delivered with a trauma-informed approach, recognizing that some participants may have personal experiences with sexual violence. We create welcoming, supportive spaces where individuals can learn, ask questions, and take meaningful steps toward creating safer communities.

CARE partners with schools, community organizations, workplaces, and professional agencies to provide trauma-informed education tailored to each audience’s unique needs.

Age-appropriate, prevention-focused programs designed for public and private schools, youth organizations, sports teams, scouting programs, and other youth-serving groups.

Community Partners

Training for parent groups, caregivers, coaches, educators, and religious leaders on recognizing abuse, mandated reporting, supporting victim-survivors, and creating safer schools and workplaces.

First Responders

Specialized training for law enforcement officers and other first responders on trauma-informed care, victim-survivor support, and more.

SART Professional Trainings

Specialized, trauma-informed trainings offered through CARE’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) initiative to strengthen the community’s response to sexual violence. Some trainings may include a nominal fee based on the number of attendees.

Become a Partner

Allied Partners in Prevention Program

The Allied Partners in Prevention Program is a collaborative initiative that helps organizations create safer, more informed, and trauma-responsive environments where everyone can thrive. Funded by the Maryland Department of Health, this program partners with agencies throughout Carroll County, with a special focus on rural communities, faith-based organizations, agricultural partners, disability-serving organizations, healthcare providers, schools, and community groups, to strengthen local efforts to prevent sexual violence.
Our Prevention Specialist will work alongside your team to assess your organization’s unique needs and develop a customized prevention plan that fits your mission, culture, and the populations you serve. Through education, policy development, technical assistance, and practical tools, participating organizations will build the knowledge and confidence needed to recognize risk factors, promote healthy relationships, support survivors, and foster safe, inclusive spaces.
Organizations that successfully complete the program will earn certification as a CARE Healing Center Partner in Prevention. Certified partners will receive recognition for their commitment to preventing sexual violence and may proudly advertise their status as a Partner in Prevention, demonstrating to employees, clients, and the community that they are dedicated to creating safe and supportive environments for all.
