Empowering Change Through Education

Education is a cornerstone of CARE’s mission.
Our programs empower community members of all ages to prevent sexual violence and support victim-survivors. CARE delivers these presentations with a trauma-informed approach, recognizing that some participants may have personal experiences with sexual violence.
Please contact our Outreach Educator, Lily Stonecipher, to schedule a presentation.

For Students

Prevention Starts Early

CARE partners with schools, parent groups, youth organizations, sports teams, religious communities, scouting programs, and professional groups to tailor programs to their needs.

School-Based Health Curricula

CARE offers age-appropriate, MSDE-aligned health presentations to both public and private schools in Carroll County, most often within health classes. Our presentations are designed to engage students in meaningful discussions while providing them with the knowledge and skills to make safe, informed decisions.

Topics Include

Sexual Violence Prevention on Campus

Living on a college campus instantly changes one’s perception of a safe space. Healthy relationships and safe boundaries learned as a child are now impactful as a newly independent adult. Looking honestly at the statistics of sexual violence on college campuses and how to decrease one’s risk are offered year-round. A second workshop is suggested to provide a more robust, in-depth understanding of sexual violence.
